Isabel began her career in the fragrance industry working as a perfumer’s lab technician at Takasago in 1993.
In 1994 she moved to Fragrance Resources to become a fragrance evaluator across many product categories. In 1996 she accepted a job at Bush Boake Allen, where she gained extensive experience focusing on environmental and hair care fragrances as well as new fragrance delivery technologies.
In 1998 Isabel joined Quest International as a fragrance development manager specializing in creative fine fragrance development. During her nine years at Quest Isabel was promoted to Vice President, Fine Fragrance Development where her responsibilities included managing the New York fragrance development team as well as contributing to the fine fragrance strategy of the company.
In 2007 Isabel made the leap to the other side and served in a Global role as Director of Creative Fragrance Development and Fragrance Product Innovation at Avon Products Inc. While at Avon, Isabel led the development of the company’s global fine fragrance initiatives, was responsible for the fragrance development of skincare and personal care and was a key member of the fragrance category leadership team.
In 2012 Isabel started Ryan Fragrance Consulting which provides fragrance development services for both fragrance houses and consumer brands.
Isabel’s expertise in Fine Perfumery and Personal Care Fragrances, her ability to translate trends into olfactive themes together with her Research & Development background and a passion for Consumer Insights have contributed to her success.
Isabel holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology from the State University College at Oneonta and she holds a Masters of Business Administration with a major in Marketing from Long Island University, CW Post.
